Sleeping a few minutes down the road from historic downtown Breckenridge, lovingly called “Breck” by the locals, is a treat in itself - not to mention the gorgeous, snowy peaks in the backdrop. Artisan shops, eateries, and galleries are dotted along the main streets of Breck: Colorado’s largest historic district.
The Victorian architecture and Western hospitality in Breck is reminiscent of the gold rush, which first put this town on the map. Nowadays artists and visitors alike flock to the Arts district, a one-acre campus that hosts a number of galleries, performances, creative chops, and studios, open for the public to enjoy.
There’s no shortage of cozy après options, full of locals and ski bums, as well as a vibrant nightlife (if that’s what you’re after!). When visiting in the warmer months, Breck is still a bustling mountain town with plenty of personality. Summer outdoor activities are at your doorstep, with many hiking trails, lakes, and mountain biking options in the area.
This wonderful home is tucked slightly up in the foot hills! We recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle in the winter just to be safe! Lyft and Uber are in the area but not always the most reliable. For avid bicyclists, biking into town is an option!

Although there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and outdoor recreational opportunities fairly close to this property, we recommend that you have your own car when traveling in the mountainous region of Breckenridge.

The townhouse at Gold Point Lodge was great, the fact that it sits right at the bus stop of the Boreas Pass route was priceless, you have a bus coming every hour from 6:18 am to 11:18 pm that will take you directly into town, no need to drive and pay parking to Ski Breckenridge. The garage was a nice surprise.
The place is a bit on the older side compared to what is shown in the pictures, but this is common in Breckenridge. Having said that, the kitchen is completely remodeled and with high end appliances and utensils, our only complaint there is that they have very few plates and glasses, you need to wash the dishes after each meal to have them available for the next one, a second set of plates and glasses for 8 guests would be great to be able to run the dishwasher full every night instead of washing dishes after each meal. If you have a smaller group this is not an issue, but if that's the case you will not be renting a three bedroom Airbnb.
You will need to bring everything you need to cook as they only had salt and pepper, there was no cooking oil nor coffee as it's common on other Airbnb's.
The fact that we were able to bring our two dogs was greatly appreciated. Kudos for that, but payment for the pet fee was a struggle as it was not clear who needed to be paid for it, as we had to pay it twice and then ask for a refund. In the end, the fee was a bargain at only $40 per dog per week.
After checking in at the lodge lobby we saw that the envelope had a a wrong check out date, a day earlier than what we had reserved, we contacted the Host thru Airbnb and they told us that everything was taken care with the lodge, but that was not the case, a day before our check out, the cleaning service was at our door at 9:00 am trying to clean the property, making us feel uncomfortable as we were trying to catch the bus to go skiing we lost time explaining to them that we were checking out the next day and we miss the bus and had to wait an hour for the next one. That afternoon we came and our key card wouldn't work and had to go to the lobby to get it programmed again, the problem was that it was at check in time and there was a big line. If they had done their job properly after we alerted them to the wrong check out date this wouldn't have been an issue. They did give us an extra 30 minutes at check out on the correct date after we asked for a later check out.
I would have given the property Five Stars, but the confusion about the pet fee and the lodge having the wrong check out date made us give it four stars. Otherwise, you won't regret renting this townhouse, just keep in mind that you won't be able to walk into town, you either take the bus or drive.
We would definitely rent it again.Show more I would not recommend this condo through Phillip and the owner until they better communicate on if dogs are allowed and how they want to handle the pet fee at the time of check in. In addition, this condo needs attention to cleanliness and a deep clean in every room. The blinds are incredibly dusty and the tables, the furniture feels old/dirty, the main bedroom mattress is awful because it slants to the right when looking at bed and very soft (new mattress is long over due); the bathroom are old, tubs are dark and so are sinks and countertops. There are no cleaning supplies or any type of food storage containers, wrap, etc, so you should bring supplies. Also, this is not a place for elderly! It is not an easy drive from Main Street. All up hill, switch backs, poorly lit, hard to see curves/turns/road signs. The check in is not a condo but rather a hotel process.Show more
