The space This colorful Victorian home is attractively situated on a corner in a charming neighborhood of tree-lined streets. It will steal your heart with its striped awnings and multi-colored fish scale shingles crowning the dormer windows on the second floor. The house was divided into a duplex, with your private unit occupying one half of the building. You have your own separate entrance accessible from the expansive, shady front porch. On your side of the porch, enjoy outdoor meals at a café table with seating for four. Just inside your front door, you’ll be greeted by a warm, welcoming open concept living space with a huge kitchen island/breakfast bar at its center with stools for three. On one side of the island, a multi-purpose space includes a plush, extra-large chair and an oversized ottoman/bench beside a bright double-wide window, as well as a collection of folding chairs and a gateleg table for meals and games. And speaking of games, there are two shelves of family games for your entertainment, as well as a large wall-mounted TV! The cozy kitchen provides a homey place for preparing meals, with its honey-hued cabinets and brick backsplash. Enjoy a suite of stainless-steel appliances that includes a microwave, a range with a cooktop and oven, and a high-tech refrigerator/freezer with in-door ice and water dispenser and an oversized LED display. A large double-sided sink will make clean-up easy, and you’ll appreciate the little extras like a tea kettle and blender. A laundry room off of the living area provides a full-size washer and dryer, ironing board and iron for your convenience. Upstairs in the sleeping quarters, everybody gets to sleep in a gorgeous, sleigh bed! There is one There’s one in each of the two bedrooms, and both bedrooms offer a TV and a closet as well. The closet in the larger of the two bedrooms is a king-sized bed and walk-in that incorporates shelving. Also in this larger bedroom, you’ll find a work space that includes two desks, a desk lamp, and a comfortable executive desk chair, positioned in front of a double-wide window, uplifting your mood with natural light as you work. The other bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The bathroom provides a combination tub/shower with a glass enclosure, as well as a sink vanity with storage below and a medicine cabinet flanked with additional open shelving. Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit. Wonderful stay and everything is as listed. The only things I want to mention are that the beds are so extremely soft. If you are fine with soft beds, then I recommend staying here. It extremely uncomfortable for me so I would not stay here again. However if you do not have a problem with this, this is an excellent listing.<br/>Additionally, it is really noisy outside at night if you sleep with the windows open. I'm not sure why, maybe the highway or wind. Not a problem if you sleep with the window closed or use ear plugs.

This was a very last minute booking for our trip. The host was very responsive in getting us information for our stay. It was really easy to enter and felt very secure. We did notice a stain on the sofa but otherwise it was a clean place. The kitchen area was very nice and had everything you would need, it's too bad we didn't use it. One warning about the space that should be mentioned in the description is the steps going up to the bedrooms and bathroom, they are not very wide and pretty steep. We were good, but an older couple may find it difficult. Location was great, we went all over the city and surrounding areas and didn't spend a lot of time travelling, it really was close to everything. Good host, good location, good space, do recommend.

Very disappointed. Didn't stay The property was very VERY small, and despite the pictures showing a driveway, the day we were arriving I received an email with instructions that said the driveway was NOT part of this unit and we needed to park on the street. The property is much smaller than it looks in the photos, so much so that my daughter felt claustrophobic from the moment we stepped in, let alone when we went upstairs to the very small second bedroom. Tried to get at least some of our money back but the Host, a company called Hoste, refused, saying that VRBO wouldn't allow it. I contacted VRBO and they said this was NOT true, that Hoste could issue a refund or partial refund at their own discretion. There's no way to know just how small this place is without looking at it, so hopefully our experience will at least help someone else not lose money with Hoste in the future. We rented another place in Palmer Lake which was thankfully available, had a much better refund policy (lesson learned!).
